Goodbye My Friend

How do you say goodbye to a friend
And have it mean as much.
To say we'll miss your burly voice, and rugged looks,
And miss your gentle touch.

You were a special kind of man,
That we knew and loved so dear.
We'll miss you in our daily lives,
But know that you're still here.

The rides will never be the same,
But the rides will never end.
We know the way you wanted it,
My dear and loving friend.

We rode together many of times,
And many of times we talked.
Many of times I looked in my mirror,
And a couple of times I was shocked.

Your ever presence was always felt,
Your engine was always heard.
Now that you're gone, your engine has stopped,
You are unable to utter a word.

Someday I know I'll look in my mirror,
And shudder at what I will see.
That shining Blue Harley coming behind,
Watching over the ride and me.

How do you say goodbye to a friend,
And have it mean as much.
To be there for the last farewell,
And still able to feel your touch.
