Ride for Dad

Blue Knights® ONT X Sudbury Chapter hosted their 8th annual Prostate Cancer "Motorcycle Ride For DAD" on June 14th, 2008. There were 112 bikes registered for the ride and raised $33,775.00. To date we have raised over $193,000.00.

The Motorcycle Ride For DAD raises money for Prostate Cancer research, patient care and education at the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre.

Research funding for this major disease is very low even though Prostate Cancer is the No.1 male cancer in Canada. Ride For DAD research dollars are put to work in the community where they are raised.

A number of clubs are taking an active part in the organizing of the ride as we take a part in their rides. The Clubs involved are: Blue Knights® ONT X, Sudbury Wings, HOG, Freedom Riders, Southern Cruisers Riders Club Chapter #418 and Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers.

Prostate cancer is a very serious disease that attacks men, but affects the whole family.

We all have prostates and if we don't we have someone in our life that does so as the times gets closer lets not hesitate on getting out there and collecting pledges and prizes.

"THE CAPTAINS CLUB", a new recognition initiative to honour and recognize "Participants/Spectators" who consistently raise funds through pledges. Pledge levels are set (see listing) and as you accumulate pledges you are recognized at that level. The committee has decided to acknowledge cumulative pledging from year one with the presentation of plaques to the riders who have achieved the following:

+ Diamond Level $10,000 or more

+ Platinum Level $7000

+ Gold Level $5000

+ Silver Level $3000

+ Bronze Level $1500

Each year we will add a new plate to the plaque denoting their new level.
