The Blue KnightsŪ is a non-profit international fraternal organization consisting of law enforcement officers and their families who are motorcycles enthusiasts.  As of December 31, 2008 the Blue KnightsŪ have 615 Chapters and over 20,000 members in 28 countries.

Our purposes and goals according to the International By-Laws are to:

1. Provide for the mutual assistance, enjoyment, entertainment, education, physical, mental and social benefit of its members and the general public.
2. To promote and advance the sport of motorcycling and the safety of motorcycling.
3. To serve the interests of motorcycle owners and users.
4. To promote by example and any other acceptable means, safe use, operation and enjoyment of motorcycles.
5. To develop a fraternal spirit between law enforcement personnel and the general public.

As a non-profit organization, we frequently raise funds for charity. Of course we ride our motorcycles to these events.  On many occasions we visit other chapters and participate in their events.

ONT X was Chartered on November 15, 1982 with twenty-seven members.  Two of those Charter members are still with the Chapter, Bruce Eyre and Doug Cross.

ONT X presently has 20 members.  ONT X encompasses the area from Sault Ste. Marie, Blind River, Elliot Lake, Espanola, Manitoulin Island, Sudbury, Timmins, Temiskaming Shores, North Bay, Powassan, West Nippissing and the French River area.

Through the years ONT X has been involved in many varied activities.  We assisted at the 1983 Games for The Physically Disabled and we assisted at the 1983 Summer Games.  We also assist at a variety of parades throughout the north.

We provided the escort for the City of North Bay of the Dionne Quintuplets log home to its present location in North Bay.

Money has been raised and donated to the Kiwanis Club of Timmins area and to the Tornado Relief Fund in the Barrie area.

Taracycles have been donated to the Easter Seal Campaign and financial assistance has been given to local area hospitals.

ONT X takes an active part on the Organizing Committee of Sudbury Toy Run to provide a better Christmas to needy children.

We hosted our eighth annual Prostate Cancer "MOTORCYCLE RIDE For DAD" on June 14th, 2008 for the Northeastern Ontario Regional Cancer Centre.  This year the "Ride" raised $33,775.00 to bring the total in eight years over $194,000.00.
